Free Virtual Event: Building an EAS Research Toolbox

    Jun 26, 18:30 - 20:00 (ET)
Please Join the Region 1 Leadership Team for a free webinar! Not long ago, most EAS professionals were cut off from the research about their own field. Paywall journals and university libraries controlled who could read the research. Many professionals were left out. In today’s age of Open Access publishing, about 80% of all studies published are now free for all to read and download. It’s been quite a shift; now many of us feel inundated with new studies and wonder how to both keep up with it all and evaluate it. Where do you begin? Fran Jurga will guide us through this process. In this presentation, Fran will focus on how to find peer-reviewed research online and what to do with it after you find it. She will start with data on the recent surge in the sheer volume of EAS studies, which now includes much more about both the horses involved in EAS and the roles of professionals in the field. Moving on, she will demonstrate how anyone can set up a useful research reading library online that stores your articles for future reference, whether you store them online or download them to your computer. Google Scholar is just one example of a free management tool that will store and organize your links to EAS research articles online. She’ll also show some of the journal websites and university repositories. Whether you are new or well-versed in “researching research” all attendees will benefit from the information about new trends in EAS research and the time-saving tools that are making research easier to store, share, and keep forever This presentation can be counted towards 1.25 CR-All OR 1.25 CE
